Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What type of ring should I get?
A. If you are a new master mason, you will most likely want a blue lodge ring. These are usually symbolized by a square and compass with a G in the middle. Other symbols you may see often represent the shriners, york rite, knights templar or scottish rite.
Q. I am a fellowcraft mason, can I wear a ring?
A. No. But if you want to purchase one ahead of time so you have it after you are raised, that's very common.
Q. How much is shipping?
A. Shipping is free.
Q. Can I get overnight shipping?
A. No, sorry.
Q. How long does it take for shipping??
A. 4-6 Weeks, please look here for more information on this.
Q. How should I wear my ring? With the square and compass facing in or out?
A. On a wall the square and compass points down. On the book it points away from the master. These two facts infer that it should be worn with the points facing out. Additionally, signet rings are worn such that they can be used without being taken off, thus requiring the compass points to point down.
Q. Why does my tracking number not show any information?
A. In order to bring you precious metal rings at rock bottom prices, we use two a step shipping process. Ever week a consolidated shipment comes into the USA with many rings. Once that package arrives, the rings are individually sent out via USPS. If each ring was shipped directly to you from the silversmith, it would cost significantly more. The USPS shipping label and tracking numbers are generated before the consolidated shipment enters the USA. Therefore, there is a gap between when the tracking numbers are generated and when they are recieved by USPS. If the final destination of your order is outside the United States then your tracking number will not show any information until the package is actually delivered to you. These tracking numbers are NOT so that you see each post office the package goes through, but rather for insurance purposes if your package does not arrive.
Q. Do you make the rings yourself?
A. No, you wouldn't want me making you a ring.. I employ highly skilled silversmiths from all over the world to craft these rings.
Q. I would like a custom design, is that possible?
A. You can design your own in our cutom masonic ring shop!
Q. Will these rings turn my finger green?
A. No way! All our rings are made of precious metal. Jewelry with high amounts of zinc is what turns fingers green.
Q. Will my silver ring tarnish?
A. It sure will! Just like any silver or sterling silver product it will tarnish. Tarnish is not dirt and cannot just be wiped off but is rather a slight change in the molecular composition of the metal. This change is easily reversed with a simple chemical process. There are number of websites online dedicated to cleaning silver.
